Hello all,

First off, I'm new here and I have some questions and some of them are probably gonna seem real stupid but I'd rather have the correct information before I go out and purchase my first frog. I've been doing my homework and the general consensus seems to be that whites tree frogs are great frogs for beginners, but otherwise I keep coming across contradicting information.

Do they need a heat mat? (I've read on many sites that you don't need a heat source, that they need to be kept at room temperature)
Do they need a light?
What is the best staple food? (I've read crickets are the best, but I've also seen mealworms)
Can they be handled? (I don't mean excessively. But I've read things that say yeah it's ok to handle them and they don't mind it every now and then, and then I've read that you shouldn't handle them unless it's to move them into a separate tank or whatever when you deep clean they're normal tank)

I know these are really basic questions but there's so much contradicting information out there that it's confusing me a little and I'd like to make a well informed decision as to if this is the right frog me.

So...that's pretty much all I can think of for now.
