Default How long do can you keep drift wood and fake plants?

The reason why I'm asking this is because I bought some new fake plants for Loki my juvi Green Cranwelli and since his drift wood/fake plant he always hides under wasn't in there he freaked out. So how long can I keep it and what can I do to preserve it. I need to deep clean the wood and am having trouble finding one that looks close enough that he won't notice its new. How do I go about cleaning the wood?

You can keep the driftwood almost starts to fall apart. In a natural built thank like the ones i build for Dart Frogs, the wood is permanent. The fake plants are good as long as you can keep cleaning them. Them little guys don't like change :-)

Yeah I know. He freaked out bad. I really don't know how to calm them down easily. I don't like him climbing on the glass. I already stressed him last night when I soaked him. Thought he had to poop and he did go but I believe it was early. It came out runny but was normal color and only had 2 cricket heads and the sack that usually coats the fecies. It was thick and since color was normal I believe it was stress and not parasites. Just in case though I changed everything and stressed him more. I feel terrible and it worries me. I got him to eat 2 medium crickets while I was cleaning so atleast he ate. I had to put his old plant back and he calmed down a little but not enough for me to calm down Lol!
