Took a few pics tonight of LIL BASTARD. I've had it about four months now I believe, i'm guessin its six months old or so. Seems to be doing well roughly 5 to 5.5", very aggressive so hard to measure it. When I first posted pics everyone said male, it does have a lot of orange and seems to be growing bigger and bigger but ive never heard it croak and its head doesnt seem huge like all the pics of males that i've seen so I still cant decide. Its mouth always looks bigger in pics than in person it seems like, he/she just had its first mouse the other day but otherwise its on strictly earthworms two days on, one off and then crickets once every week or two.

100% male mate. congrats![]()
Awesome frog!
Very nice male.
He is cool looking! I didn't know Petsmart sold pyxies!
Petsmart had two of them in a tank together, one was 2.5inch or so and then this one was almost not quite 4 when I get him. My first pixie so i hope his growth rate is on par for his age, man he is aggressive compared to my pacmans!
He's a beauty! Hopefully Bruce, who's also from Petsmart turns out half as nice as your guy.
Thanks, I hope it really is a male but either way its my fav frog so far. When I first did his big water dish he would never leave it but he never goes in it anymore. I keep fresh water in it, not sure wha the deal is with that but I guess he seems fine out of it.
Congrats on your African Bullfrog; it look great. Did not know Petsmart sells Pixies; local ones just carry C. cranwelli's sold as Ornates.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Normally they just have dwarfs, I was suprised too.
I have yet to see any dwarfs for sell besides reptile shop but Petco will occasionally carry pyxies as well.
Finally got a better measurement today, looks to be 5.75" right now. I gave him a mouse a couple weeks ago for the first time, just wondering how long before I can give another? Sometimes I read 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, once a year just curious. He seems kinda bored with crickets and worms lately.
