I have a whites tree frog that is rather large. I was wondering if she might be over weight. Saying she cause she is much bigger then my other two. The problem is this morning I watched as it tried to climb up the side of the aquarium. (I am working on converting a 20g tall aquarium into a 20g vertical one) Anyway she seemed like she couldn't get a grip on the glass sides and kept falling off or sliding down. I was wondering if maybe putting a temporary turtle perch would help to let her get higher up. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
she s not fat in my opinion. I have branches and magnatural ledges to help my frogs get higher
Thanks. I got a magnatural ledge and am in the process of turning a 20gallon horizontal into a vert tank. I will make sure that she has ways to climb.
i weighed my girl last night, 82 grams. 1 boy is 50 grams and 1 is 64 grams. my girl is alittle fat. lol
Girl frogs tend to be fatter and longer than guy frogs. I'd say she's normal. Back when I had two frogs, the female was almost double the size of my little male. Kind of pudgy too. :P
I'd say your frog is pretty fit with good weight . I had one along time ago that was literally the size of a soft ball , you barley see her eyes because of the fatty tissues.
Well you did know that girls are bigger then boys when it comes to white's tree frog.
but i have white Lipped tree frog known as Guinea tree frog.
Mine will climb to the top of the enclosure then start sliding back down. with mine i have made a custom background with ledges on it and also 2 different branches reaching the top of the enclosure they run up and down it and jump from branch to branch.
Thanks I am in the process of redoing a tank for them. I weighed her last night and she weighed 94g and both boys weighed in at 38g each.
