That's what I thought. I've always been able to tell Pyxies by head size. So far that's been the most accurate. Doesn't show til they reach a certain size and age though.

heres the pics. shes 3.25-3.5inches. more closer to 3.5 but i cant measure her properly because she bites. you can tell shes female because of the small head. at this size they are easily sexable so yeah.
in that feeding she had 3 adult male dubia, 1 large nymph and nearly my hand... lol. its crazy how much they can fit in their bodies.
shes a psycho though she reminds me of this frog Frogs with teeth! - YouTube she does the same threat posture with the mouth open to me. im always scared to pick her up. total opposite to my other female whoes in the same enclosure.
sucks though i want a male. a guaranteed male over here is expensive![]()

i tried to get some pics of right in front of her face but theres no way that would happen she keeps trying to attack me lol. her head looks really small when you stare her in the face.
Look,
If you have seen inches of growth within weeks of owning the AFB, Its a good chance that its a male. If it wants to take your finger off every time you go near it, its a good chance that it is a male. Throat color and underside orange is a good indication that its a Male. I have raised well over 40 of these pixies, have 20 or so in my possession at any given time, and at that size it is a complete guess whether its a female or a male.nuptual pads indicate being a male. at 3.5 inches u cannot conclude it is not a male.
And you may be looking at your friends males when they are older. They make a complete COMPLETE transformation when males get bigger and older. The head like triples in size, they develop huge lumps behind their eyes, Orange underside and nuptual pads. You cannot judge a baby pixie by an adult male pixie. just no comparison

the growth spurt its had has only happening recently, she was growing slowly when i got it as a baby. every young male ive seen at 3-4inches i can tell they are heading for male because the heads are big. mine has a small head the pics i uploaded make her head look larger. the head looks smaller in person, really small from a frontal view but i couldnt get pics of that. if you saw her in person you would call female. i just dont see the head doubling in size from 3.5inches to 4 or 4.5inches.
she has some orange round the armpits. i just reckon shes a feisty female tbh im confident that its female
