I have spent years and hours in the Catskills / woods. I looks like a wood frog to me? If so, it might have some striping on it's legs ( but not all do) . I really can't see the side of the frog in the pic. A mature frog would be about 2 -1/2inches. The tummy would be almost white. The dark patch behind the eye is what makes me think it is a wood frog. The call sounds like quacking.
