Thread: My finished vivarium!

    Talking My finished vivarium!

    So excited!!! I got the rest of my plants in today and put them inside. So my vivarium is all modeled and done! All thats left is getting temp and humididty stable and then its ready for my froggies!!

    Nice tank simple yet elegant, the frogs will love it, nice hiding places and some perches

    looks fantastic, your red eye tree frogs will be quite happy, i like the use of shells and how in the froint there is a small stream or pond.

    Thanks guys!! Their escargo shells. i thought they were pretty so i put them in there.

    Do you have the dimensions or volume of the tank?

    A general guide is 10 gallons per frog .

    the tank is 18 x 18 x 18 .

    That would give you 5,832 square inches which is approximately 25 gallons.

    So, you could put 2 1/2 frogs in there, lol! So... 2 I guess .

    That looks awsome, have you used real plants, ive had trouble with real plants not lasting in mine, dirt goes stinky. any advice for what works best.

    thanks tanz! yes i used real plants. i used a soft tropical substrate.( it says Tree Fern on the side of the bag) for soil for the plants, under that i have coco fiber. All exo terra brand. Its not to bad as in smell. Only when it gets wet, then it just smells like wet dirt, but it doen't stink up my room! lol as long as my tank door is closed i don't smell it....but smells part of the fun of owning frogs! hope that'll help you...lol Im fairly new myself...so i don't know much...but this has been working for me so far...
