    Default Chytrid?

Squish ate her monthly frozen/thawed mouse last Saturday with no issues, but now, a week later, she still shows no interest in food, and has recently had a dark colored skin shed that she did not compleatly eat. Is this a sign on chytrid? I know how it can be treated, but I'm not sure if it is necessary? Am I just over worrying for some reason?

Not necissarily. She could have had a bad shed. If the humidity is not right it can cause them to have bad sheds o which pieces of the shed will stay attached. Usually around the hind legs and front legs. Sometimes on their face where they can't reach. You would need a vet to check for sure to make sure its not chytrid though, but it takes somewhere around 18 days to fully manifest itself to do harm to the host. Signs are dry flakey very bad sheds/lesions/sores/loss of appetite and other symtoms. A specialist is needed to be sure that it is chytrid. It is dificult to diagnose just by what you're frogs symtoms are. Could have to do with the pinky.

Hope it's just a bad shed Bruce!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

A lot of the time when you feed them mice they become slightly constipated. It takes them longer to digest mammalian tissue so it travels through their digestive tract. You can soak her in some warm de-chlorinated water with 3 drops of honey disolved in the water. This helps perk up your frog and will also help her poop if she needs to. If she doesn't need to yet it will help her move it on through her bowels more. Also will soften any bad sheds and help remove them. Keep us posted.

    (PS)-Pics would help also.

I'll try to get some pics in a bit. The only change that has happened was a fogger I added to keep the humidity up. The temps and humidity are all perfect (80 during the day, 75 at night, humidity is 65-90, depending if the fogger is on or not).

Usually she eats right away after a mouse, but maybe this one is just causing her issues.. Maybe it's best to wait it out for a bit before doing anything?

I didn't see any problems with her skin. It won't hurt to soak her in the water solution that I told you to use. Its actually beneficial to soak them in a warm de-chlorinated water solution. Honey is a natural substance that is both antioxidant/antihystamine/antibacterial. Plus the natural surgar content helps reduce stress and helps the deficate. Its not a medical treatment that you have to worry about needing to diagnose an illness to treat them in this solution. I use it everytime I feed mice when its time for the frog to poop. You can feel on the right side of the frog for the poop in her intestines. If its taking up her whole side down to the vent she needs to go and this soak will allow her to do so easily.

That's good news to hear! I was just worried about the weird shed she had. I soaked her today without honey (don't have any on me..) and she didn't go and just buried herself to go to sleep. When she wakes up I'll try that. Thanks for the info!

The chytrid will often have them doing multiple sheds....the theory is that they are trying to rid themselves of the infection by shedding it off.
If the shed was dark in color, it may be that the skinn held some dark melanin and it is common. When snakes shed, you can sometimes see the colors & patterns on the shed skin.

It would do no harm if you treat the frog for it just to be safe. But if you are seriously concerned, then a visit to a qualified vet is in order.
