I have some white little hairs growing on some of the moss that my little pacman frog is in, is he/she in any immediate danger and how sould i get rid/prevent it.
What is your humidity at and how often do you change the substrate?
my humidity is between 85 n 90, and i have had the tank set up for maybe a week, jus got the frog yesterday
The mold should be fine and seems to be a common occurence but I will let someone more experienced decide...
Thanks, yea, i have been poking around on the internet and it seems to be ok and easily controlled by spring tails, but if someone more experienced could chime in that would be great. But thanks fro the advice. also the mold is only growing in shade, none directly under the light, if that helps to determine anything.
Its fine as long as it doesn't get out of control. Most driftwood you buy will grow white mold every now and then and it doesn't seem to do any harm. As a precaution I would remove any large growths so they don't spread and keep an eye on the condition of your frogs skin to be sure it isn't attacking the frog.
ight, thanks grif, there isnt any near his lil chill spot, what would be signs of skin irritation?
Discolored dry flakey spots on the skin. Sometimes you can actually see the mold on the spots where it is attacking the skin. It will appear red and irritated with some of the fuzzy mold in the affected area. If this occurs consult the frog first aid article to treat it accordingly.
alright, your advice is much appreciated. I am going to keep an eye on it and look into the care article if anything further happens
ight, will definantly do, thanks again
