Anyone use this supplement powder on their insects for their pixie frogs? I started every third feeding and so far our frog seems to have more energy going nuts now at every feeding. I'm wandering if this is all I need with its varied diet which includes cricket's, gold fish, super worms and pinky mice. I also have a low output 40watt florescent sun bulb on a 12HR cycle. Everything seems good but its my daughters frog and I want it to be healthy and have a good life. Here is the owner, a pick from today fishing.

Hi,
I personnaly use calcium power without D3 and calcium power with D3.
D3 is necessary to fix the calcium for the frog, but, you should not use D3 too much.
Too much vitamins for amphibians is really bad.
What I do is "calcium + D3" on 1 or 2 insectes per month (Not much !) and "calcium without D3" every two days on 1 insect.
Also I have a friend who has a budgett's frog, two Pyxies and who never uses calcium power => Frog never had any groth problems.
Various feeding is the key : crickets, locusts, roaches, mices and nightcrawlers are the most advised food for our Pyxies.
Be careful also with gold fish : they contain some bad things for frog health.
You could also try Hornworms in your frogs diet. Lots of protein and calcium. Plus they get huge.
