    Red face Well, Hello!

Hi! My name is Amy, for the record, and I've just recently recieved a new tree frog. Don Dorito is a golden tree frog, and I absolutely love him!

When I was about ten-eleven I had a green tree frog and a fire-bellied toad. I'm 24 now, so It's been awhile, but I LOVE frogs, and I always have. My goal is to get a couple of red-eyeds one day soonish, but I'm just about to graduate college, so I'll wait until I get a "real job" teaching!

Until then, I'll be researching the handsome critters and trying to resist the one they have at the pet shop. I think it's a female, as it is rather large.

I love the frog forum! It's helped me tons already.

So, Don Doritos doesn't seem to be eating lately. The crickets keep jumping into the water and drowning themselves before he can get them.

What can we do to be sure he eats them or that they don't die?

Try putting the crickets in a small bowl so the can't run loose. I use a glass dessert bowl. they usually dont get free and it makes it easy for frogs to feed.
    don't mess with my frogs

Okay! We've had a bowl in there for a few days, and I'm not sure if he's eaten any still--- so it seems to have been 3-4 days since he's eaten. My boyfriend is actually taking care of him. I am at home for the holidays. Is this something to worry about?

Hi Amy and welcome to the forum. I see in another thread you have upgraded Don Doritos home. Is he moved in? If so, then Its quite possible that he is just settling into his new environment and can sometimes take a few days to do so. Im not sure what you keep your temps and humidity at but any change to that can effect there eating habits. I wouldn't worry with just 3-4 days with no food :-).
