I bought a couple of pyxie frogs from the pet shop a while back. I asked them to order in Giant Pyxies, but I got something else instead. They are not "giants" and not "dwarfs". These little guys never got bigger then a golf ball, around 2.5-3" SVL. I used to call them my "Minature Pyxies" because I didn't know what they were, and were smaller then my Dwarf Pyxies. It had 3 stripes like the juvenile giants do, but they were yellow, and not green.
The first one I got came in sick. I think he had some sort of bacterial infection, but ended up dying shortly after we got back from the vet, so I was never able to medicate him. There was some discoloration with the eye and on his tummy. I thought it was just some eye irritation because only the one eye was a bit cloudy, but he crashed very quickly.
The second one was a replacement, and it lived about 10 months or so, and eventually died. He was just never quite right. I had him in a 15 gallon tank for a while, then upgraded him to an exoterra, and he just went downhill after that.
I posted these pictures over a year ago on other forums (the Frog, and Frog Freaks), so some of you may have seen these before. I am still interested in knowing what kind of pyxie frog it is, and what the scientific name for this guy is, if anyone can identify it.
Here is Pickles:

I should have joined this forum ages ago. I love that there is a section dedicated to pyxies with lots of dedicated pyxie owners.
