Just wanted to update everyone on my two baby red eye tree frogs that I rescued from a pet shop on November 7.
They both have been eating and doing very well since I brought them home, but Mint seems to be growing at a more rapid pace than speckles.
Just today I moved them both into my spare 20 gallon that I just got around to cleaning out, before that they were in a 5 gallon. So, much more room for them to grow before I put them in with my adults. I just want them to do a little more growing before that move happens
I measure them both last week, but even since then, Mint seems to have had a rapid growth spurt. Last week Mint measure at just an inch and Speckles just under an inch. I did not measure them today, but took pics of them compare to a penny.
This is Mint...
This is Speckles...
I'm just wondering if this is normal for young frogs or if I should be concerned?
If anyone has any ideas or info that would be great
Thanks
Excellent work!I'm sure they love you! It is 100% normal for them to grow at a different pace. Really, it's not much of a size difference, just a few millemeters. No need to be concerned at all
As long as they're eating then things should be perfectly fine.
Awe! So cute! That's wonderful![]()

Haha, yeah I'm sure they do love me... They are so tiny in there new temporary home. This is what it looks like...
You can't see them, but they look like they love the bromeliad I put in last night.. One is asleep on a leaf and the other is under a leaf on the glass
Well thanks, I wanted to just make sure
I know in the pics you can't tell that well, but mint is much bigger (longer and fatter) than speckles.. But I'm sure he will catch up in time
That's gorgeous for a temporary home!![]()
Well thank you
I just figured I had enough extra decorations that I'm not using so I may as well give them as much as I can to climb on and hide in.
I'm sure they appreciate your care greatly![]()
