    Default Alex's New Vivarium

Hey guys. I haven't been that active on the board in a while so I figured I'd show you my new viv! Its a 18x18x18 Exo-Terra with a false bottom and a corner with some water in it. You'll have to bare with me cause I'm not the best photographer... There are 5 bromeliads, 2 alcocasia polly, 4 small vines that are dying, moss, a crawling plant that I can't remember the name of, a heart leaf fern, and soon to have some peace lily and pothos. So, here are the pics!

First one is of the tank...

The next is a view of the tank...

The space on the left will be filled with peace lily.

This picture shows the bromeliad "forest" (clump)

A pic of the plant that I don't know the name of.

A picture of one of the broms

Another pic of brom, this one is more interesting!

A pic where you can see the alcocasia polly over-hanging the water section...

And thats pretty much it. I still have to add the peace lily and the pothos. I will be getting some magnolia leaves for leaf litter. Once the pothos and peace lily are in there and when the tank is grown in, I think it will look a lot better...

I'll post some more pics when the tank has got the other plants in it.
    Thanks for looking,
    Alex

Looks nice. People usually put the broms on the back walls to keep the roots from rotting but I have a few that are in the soil like that and they have been doing well for me for sometime now. I'm not the greatest with plants but ask around to be sure. What kind of frogs are going in there?

I was planning on putting the broms on the back wall but the background wasn't deep enough for me to plant them in the back wall. The broms have been looking good so far and only one leaf has wilted and that was b/c the pet sitter didnt mist this tank. I want to get H. valerioi but if I do, that will be WAY in the future so I might get some tincs or some tree frogs that feed on FF's cause I hate crickets.

    Thank you!
    Alex
