Default Frozen Smelt - Can It be fed?

Went to a fish market and picked up a bag of frozen "dressed smelt" (dressed = salted and peppered). If I defrost and rinse these very well would it be fine to feed to my ABF's? I don't see a problem with doing it, I fed one of my frogs it and they absolutely loved it, idk if its the smell or what, but he just really went for it.

    BUT

I figured I should ask to make sure before I feed all my frogs it.

Mikey, I have never fed mine fish, but I am willing to try. It sounds like it should be good.

    Jimi,
I've been feeding talapia to mine since they were quarter size. But talapia is just the meat. I figure if the only reason people do not feed rodents is the mammal flesh, than fish should work really well. If you feed smelt that have the bones / scales /meat and everything than it should be as nutritious as a rodent but digestible for the frog!

I'm really sold on feeding full smelt, but I'm just worried that if the fish is salted to preserve it it my make the frog hypertonic lol

No idea on the effects of seasoned foods on frogs. At pet shops you can find frozen Silversides meant for feeding fish. Also, can find similar whole small fish in many Asian markets. Do not recommend Goldfish; they are the worst feeder fish as far as I know.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
