Welcome to the forum.
Hello, my name is Heather-Leigh and I am a froggie (and herp) enthusiast. I am currently studying Zoo Keeping Technology, and I plan on making a career with animals, particularly conservation, research, and field studies. Ever since I was a little girl I was always into the "creepy crawly" things. My favorite being turtles, and I really wish to work with sea turtles and other sea animals and hopefully with other reptiles and amphibians down the road. Right now, I just want to start a career with animals and I haven't decided whether or not I want to continue education with Marine Biology, but I plan one day being a qualified herpetologist. In the mean time, as I finish up my schooling, I volunteer with the local animals at shelters, and my dream career would be an Animal Welfare Officer, as the main career when I am not doing field studies. I am SCUBA certified, President of our animal school club (S.C.A.T. Student Concerned for Animals in Trouble) and I plan on moving to California in a year. I am just loving life with my pets and being surrounded with animals at school! I have two rambunctious dogs, Border Collie mix (rescue) and a Siberian Husky . I also have two fire bellied toads (one is dying thoughand the other one is just plan mean, ha ). I also have a ball python, and the owner of a rose haired tarantula. I have had three African dwarf frogs in the past, another fire bellied, among with some fish and invertebrates, but haven't had much luck with all of those. As I advance in my education and husbandry classes, it teaches me better pet ownership skills, all of my losses have taught me so much. No animal, no matter how small is not disposable in my eyes, but teaches me better husbandry knowledge. I am a big advocate of adopting animals, I try not to buy animals anymore to support the supply and demand of the pet trade. Well, that is me! Happy to join the Frog Forum in hopes of advice and just fun!

Welcome to Frog Forum Heather Leigh! From your intro it's quite obvious you love animals and life sciences. One thing experience (MS in Marine Biology & 48 years keeping FW & SW tanks) has taught me is that field life sciences and pet keeping are two different subjects. You need to learn the latter in order to maintain healthy captive animals and figure out what works and what doesn't within the limits of your aquarium or enclosure. Were do you go SCUBA diving?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
