About a year and a half ago I acquired a male White's Tree Frog (Aeon), at the time barely bigger than my thumbnail. I did the standard research, including purchasing a handbook for more specific questions and/or quick references. Since I've had him I've gotten pretty used to his behavior and reactions to things, and have gotten into the habit of taking him out once or twice a week since he's usually content to sit quietly on my arm or laptop. He has never shown any of the defensive/fear responses I've read about such as urination when handled. However, I just bought a larger female (almost 4 inches) and her behavior is vastly different; any human contact at all results in her projectile urinating with a good deal of force. I don't want to stress her out, but I will need to handle her on occasion in order to clean the tank and provide other maintenance. I'm not sure if it would be better to leave her alone entirely and just deal with the stress when I do have to move her, or if I should slowly start handling her on occasion to acclimate her to it so she'll be calmer in the future.
