I bought a pair of phyllomedusa sauvagii's from LLL Reptile September 1, 2011. I reckon they were roughly 1 month old but not for certain. One of them was smaller to begin with by a tiny bit... They are both eating very well are both look very healthy.. Just the one frog that was a little bit bigger to begin with is now twice the size of the other one.. I dont understand. does that mean 1 is male and the other is female or does one have some kinda growth problem.. Please help me with some sorta idea of what is gone on....
It's perfectly normal for them to grow at different rates, the other one will catch up in due time. How big are they at the moment? They probably transformed from tadpole to froglet a week (give or take) apart. Most amphibians have a huge growth spurt early in life.
the samller one is about 1.5 inches. the larger is 2.5. it just seems to me that the smaller one just eats and eats but never grows. they both got one heck of an appetite but its just bothersome that they arent growing at the same rate if you know what i mean
UnderstandableAs long as the small one is eating properly it'll grow very soon
thank you so much. defenitely a piece of mind. much appriciated
