Young toad calling....?

My three month old western toad (about 1 1/2 inches) can't "chirp" yet, but it makes very quiet clicking sounds. I can only hear it when I'm within a few feet of the toad. The clicks can be in rapid succession or varying time intervals apart. Only one of my two toads does it. Is that possibly an early signification that it's a male...?

I think so! My male american toad does this all the time!

Absolutely!! because actually the topic of telling apart males from females in the amphibian world is quite popular... especially when it's not obvious in maturity or mating seasons

Wonder if similar behavior occurs with some other species of amphibians, rather than just toads?
