Have you ever lost a frog from illness that caused starvation or loss of apetite, and don't want it to happen again? Or just want to have extra knowledge in case something happens? Here are simple instructions on how to force feed a frog/toad.
**NOTE** Do NOT force feed unless it's necessary and you're concerned about your frogs health.
Wash/rinse your hands thouroughly before doing this! Simply hold the frog in your left hand (right if you're a lefty) with your thumb keeping the frogs head still, and take something slim and plastic with rounded edges (like a credit card) in your other hand and gently pry the mouth open. Hold the frog still with the card remaining in its mouth. Get a dead, calcium dusted insect and place it above the card in the mouth of the frog. Remove the card from the frogs mouth. The frog should swallow the bug automaticallyIf not, repeat these steps and move the insect a bit farther back in the mouth of the frog. Always be gentle when handling amphibians!
