Howdy.
I was wondering if anyone here knew of a good "master list" of frogs and toads that can/have been kept or bred in captivity.
I've seen a book called "Guide to Lizards" that listed hundreds of lizard species from all around the world that could forseeably be kept in captivity.
The guide also explained things like diet, max. size, enclosure recommendations, and scientific name, plus a scale of sorts for whether the animal in question was suitable for captivity (i.e. endangered species being unsuitable in captivity for obvious reasons, and large/obscure/venomous species being relatively difficult/unsuitable as well because of size and other inherent characteristics, or just because there was little info available).
Being a biology major, I would like to see a similar book listing different frogs and toads (or maybe just amphibians in general) and describing how easily they are kept by hobbyists and the details of such care if applicable.
Does anyone know of a book or other resource like this? It would be useful, even just as a catalogue of sorts, to see what is available; I'm also interested in how many species can actually be kept in terraria/paludaria/vivaria etc. successfully, just out of curiosity.
