Hello All. I posted this under my intro as a newbie, but thought it might not be seen by the right people who could answer this. I have 5 anthonyi babies who of course eat tiny fruit flies. I want to set them up in an exo terra, but my question is what methods have people used - that look good - to keep the FF's from climbing out the front and hinge gaps in the glass. Tape is not an option. These are living room decor.
Thanks in advance.
Robin
I got it!, I think. Weatherstripping, something like this: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...cStoreNum=4285
We are on the right track ! Dalton reminded me of something !
I used a product like this one- once to cover an exposed pc of glass I used as a bottom divider (used to cover the exposed edge)
I purchased it at a Michael's craft store. I recall it came in colors , as well
It is use to frame posters. It can be trimmed with a scissors.
The tricky part for you will be finding something that will not interfere with the door opening.
As the door swings open the edge of the glass moves to the inside of the enclosure.
Ya know, this just might work!!
It was not costly at all, and easy enough to try a small pc first before investing in enough for the entire enclosure.

That's what I was looking for! I couldn't think of the name of it. Good find!
What I ended up doing to Robin's Exoterra was I sealed up the gaps with silicone, then took a razor and sliced on one side of the seam, thus creating a seal that allows the doors to be opened while keeping the fruit flies in. The fun part will be sealing up the vents with mesh without getting the silicone in it.
