I just brought four african dwarf frogs from a guy who was selling his frogs as they creaped his wife out (lol), he kept them in a small tank with about three inches of water and gravel piled up in one corner just breaking the surface, i was very surprised to see two of the frogs sitting on the gravel with their backs out of the water, i asked if they did that regularly? and the answer was yes. I was not aware of this behavior, i have only seen dwarf frogs in fully aquatic tanks with eight inches or more of water and no area to "bask", is this behavior a recognized form of behavior for this species? and if so would it be worth while building my tank up to recreate these conditions?
