    Talking Horacio has arrived!

Well it's now been nearly 2 full days of Tomato Frog ownership and so far all seems good. Horacio as he/she is known, is about 2cm around and i'm guessing only a few months old (actually if anyone has any links to tomato frog growth charts, in particular d.guineti)

He did as expected once I placed him in the tank and pretty much staked the same spot out overnight, however the second night now and he has begun to explore his environment a little. I've offered him a wax worm and have some small locusts to try him on soon, just need to sort his mesh layer on the lid.

I hope to post some pics soon, and if anyone has any tips or experiences please share, I hope to have many years success with him.

His tank is at a temp gradient of 68-73/74 and i'm not using any UV at present, as he is in a well lit by daylight room.

You might want to keep him a little warmer. Frogs do not need (or like, in most cases) UV light - they are not reptiles.

Age is impossible to assess based on size alone, but I would make a guess at 1-2 months out of the water.

Post a photo of him please!

Many thanks for the comments, i'll be charging the camera this weekend and hope to get som pics up

ahh good to see I'd judged correctly with the uv light, although i'll keep an eye on temps, i'd read not to expose juveniles to temps too high, certainally no more than 80-i may try to increase to 76/78

i've tried a couple of locust, and no sign of them-so would like to think he is hunting, but i don't wish to mess the lil guy around too much whilst he settles in.
