If you can, you should, if you ask me. The more the better with these frogs, basically. Perhaps more plants to connect the to sides together as well, as you have plants to the left and right, but not so much in the middle.

The right sided hole will hold a waterfall. This is what it looked like before I added more plants. The waterfall is not complete yet.

I'll sketch out the adding of more plants. See what I can come up with. Thanks Viper!

Current temp in the tank is 75 degrees. Humidity not yet known. I haven't put the gauges in yet. Just set this up this week. I am making all the required adjustments first. will put gauges in tonight.

Again, the frogs are not yet in there .

And yes, my babies are currently thriving well, even in their terrariums .

I am very diligent with my frogs. I check the gauges all of the time and their homes are immaculate. I mist at least twice a day and more often as needed per the hydrometer readings. I check the temps in the morning and before bed and regulate accordingly with their heat lamps and side heaters. Their water is changed daily and all feces and debris are also removed daily while they sleep. They sleep right through it. Even my pacman's home is maintained in the same way .

So, I am not currently looking for care advice. I have learned tons here . Thanks to all of my friends and acquaintances here for all of your guidance . I have learned more than any care sheet I have found by being here .

Again, this is my first vivarium so I am grateful for any advice . And I appreciate any help along the way. I have not found any written guides on the how to "create" the best "vivarium" for a retf, and so that is why I ask . Yet, I know how to care for them. I hope I am making sense . And I know what they need. It's the types of plants and best means of keeping my plants alive and healthy that I need.

I am still grateful, however, lol!

    Heather,

    It looks really great !
Getting the plants to stretch across the top is a tough one. Does the lid have any plastic seams or little ledges that you could drill a little hole into??

    ie I attached 2 long pothos branches w / a shower hook:

Could you create a ie 4 inch pot holder at the top of the water falls? so a trailing type plant could eventually be stretch along the top.

My art work is terrible ! Sorry.

Hmm, I really can't tell what's in that picture, it's incredibly small. Could you try get a picture with higher resolution?

Also, I really recommend a fogger or mister. It's totally fine to just mist twice as you do, but a fogger or mister saves so much trouble and time. You can also go away a weekend without having to get a personal mist-person! They're not expensive, and I can imagine they're even cheaper in the US.

If you do want to get more plants "in the middle", pothos should work like a charm, but there are of course other options as well.

A mister would be fabulous. I can't leave for more than one day. Although I don't mind, some time in may come in handy.

I'll take some closer photos this evening. I was just trying to get the whole tank in the photo.

I am currently remodeling the house and just took a late dinner break.

    Is the tank large enough?

I would think so, I would be comfortable keeping them in there. Though I have no personal experience with this. 21 inches tall is fine I would think, my hexagon is only 3 inches taller.

Perhaps I should make a smaller waterfall?

With the kind of plants you have, a mister is probably better than a fogger now that I think about it, otherwise you just would have to water the plants anyway.

I'm sorry, I might be stupid, but I can't see a waterfall in the new pictures, so I can't really say anything about the size of it yet

Lol! True. I only have it in the old pictures. I took it out to start working on it again. I'll put it back in tomorrow and take some more pictures. I'm already laying down for the evening. It's 02:00 here, lol! Just currently being lazy, tired.

    Heather,
If I were you I would not change much at all !!
A trailing plant can be wound around the nice vine you have across the top.
I can't wait to see pics of them in there !!!!
    They're gonna love it !
Have a great weekend . Hope you don't have to work!

    Oh
I forgot to answer your question:
Med /Surge nurse - Yikes! Sounds hard. I do not have one bit of surgical /nursing experience . You would not want me to take care of a pt. post -op ! I graduated nursing school in 1979. I had a few years in telemetry right after graduation. Since then I have done diabetes education. I am a CDE ( certified diabetes educator) since 1987 . Hence my current job, as well as medical nutritional education for a large primary care ( out patient) satellite office of Mount Sinai School of Medicine here on Long Island .

Small world ! My son lives in Philly, on Hamilton by the Art Museum. He went to undergraduate college at Haverford College
( Haverford PA) and now attends UPenn. I love Philly. We will be there for Thanksgiving. Eating at " Nineteen "!

Have a great weekend ! And enjoy you Froggies - of course !!!! They have hit the honey pot !!!!!

It sounds as if everyone has the same idea and that if I add more climbing plants I should be in good shape . I may add one more vine for fun. Stickers loves her current branches. I will also add her one artificial plant via suction cup bc she just lives it and sleeps on it all of the time. Kinda silly, but it looks fairly real and I just can't bare to take it from her . I'll probably put it on the right behind the branch.

I've been a nurse for 15 years now. I worked a small bit of agency contract nursing and home health care back when I first started.

I worked in CVICU for about a year and then went to a better schedule in med/surg. It's definitely a busy unit. Constant running around. A bazillion IV meds, lol! But when it's not too stressful, I really enjoy it. Unfortunately I do work weekends, lol! Every weekend and either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. I work 12 hour (often 13-14 hour) shifts, but I have off 4 days a week .

I originally wanted to be a flight nurse, but then had my daughter. Things changed quite a bit. And my ex was in the military and then at the police academy and was gone a lot, and I wanted to be able to be home with my daughter, hence the 12 hour weekend shifts.

I love helping people ! Makes me smile .

Wow! That sounds awesome too! There's a lot of education for diabetics. You must be an excellent resource for them .

PA is a pretty state. Lots of greenery. Trees, plants, bright colors. Where I live it is very mellow and relaxing. I live in the suburbs. The homes are nicely spaced and there is a large field behind my house with lots of quiet wildlife...deer, groundhogs, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, wild turkeys, etc. It's very pretty !

Sorry for the delay in both my post and vivarium pictures. My mom just came home from the nursing home and we've been redoing the house. I will post more soon. Just haven't had time to add on to the viv yet.

    Moved some plants around...

Still playing around with the waterfall. Decided to make it a bit smaller so I could add more vines and some climbing plants.

It's really great !! I can not believe how the plants have spread out. They look beautiful ! There are soooo many places for them to sleep.
The little 'gummies' are really going to hide on you . lol ! When are you planning their big move ?
