Sorry guys for not being active here. One of my baby ornate frogs had Toxic off syndrome. He got sick from the substrate he was in. The eyes got cloudy and he was leaning on one side. so i was too busy taking care of the little guy. It was also the container i put him in from the start. It was my fault 100 %.Now i can breath normal again. He is ok now. His eyes cleared and the leaning has gotten better. He is eating and pooping like a horse.LOL Another lesson to learn. Please be careful that everything is 100% and not 99%. Like the substrate, water, and housing. I highly suggest who ever owns a frog. They must have flukers or any brand liquid calcium, vitamin. You add it to the water or the sprayer with water.I had to keep him in clean water with calcium, vitamin. I changed it every 4 hours. After 4 days it did the trick. Kept him warm and humid at 82 degrees. Well I'm pleased to say he is ok now. I'm happy to be able to talk about it.
I had been wondering where you've been. No need for appologies. Family comes first. You're right though. 99% is not clean enough. Always do 100%. I use de-chlorinated water when expanding the Eco Earth bricks I have and I change the water everyday or more than once a day if one of them has entered it. I also clean the enclosure and change the substrate every 2 weeks which may seem way too soon, but after Grif got sick I will take no chances. I'm very happy that the little guy is better. I would have had no worries though. The frog is in good hands. Congrats on giving the little one a clean bill of health.![]()
Great BG! I was kind of curious why you were off as well (thought it was work related). I will keep the liquid vitamins and calcium in mind, thank you for that tip.
Thats the best must have on hand first aid. I kid you not it helps the frog get thru the hard times . Its also good to use on a regular base. I highly believe in the stuff. It saved my pacmans life.
Happy to hear all is well with the fam BG, good work!
I'm so happy to hear your little guy pulled through! And glad to have you back.

Great for hear your pacman is doing better George. Thanks for the info on the liquid additives too. I'll probably pick some up this payday for use in my misting bottles.
