Tip for Cleaning Glass Without Chemicals

I use the Microfiber Cloths I ordered off QVC. Just dampen with rainwater, distilled water or Spring Water and it cleans better than prepared cleaning wipes. Not all Microfiber Cloths are the same and some are too slick. Best appear to be at below link:

Have you tried lemon juice? If you use just a little, like on a damp cotton ball, it's easy to control and wipe away any residue. I know it works well on calcified water deposits.

Haven't had any residue. I know it occurs because I read about it all the time. I do use only spring water without minerals, which might be the topic of another thread: Are there already minerals in natural spring water that help the frogs. But for this thread, the Microfiber Cloths grab so well, perhaps they also remove the residue before I see it. I also use them on my reading glasses, my computer, windows and even bar glasses. That's why I like the colored ones, so I won't confuse their use. I will keep the lemon juice in mind. That might be good also for refreshing the tank with a fresh scent. Thanks for the idea.

I have a microfibre cloth that looks to have a similar texture to these. They do clean well but I don't like touching them- they tend to latch on to any callouses on my skin and the feel of that kinda creeps me out.

Residue left behind after wiping down with water is generally from the minerals that get left behind when the remaining water evaporates. You can either dry the surface with a paper towel after you clean or use water without (or low in) minerals, like distilled water.

A razor blade is also a great chemical free glass cleaner.

I love the QVC microfiber cloths to clean the glass and yes they feel creepy on the skin but they work great and that's all I care about. My luck if I used a razor blade someone would jump over and get a toe or foot cut off!!

I used the edge of an old credit card to remove algae and dirt, worked a treat!

Same results as a razor blade without cutting yourself

I use warm distilled water also
