Hi everyone. I have a question and im really new to owning frogs. I got my first Dumpy about 2 months ago. Everythings been going great, love this little guy.
This morning he had some crust on the side of his mouth and it looks as if he's shedding his skin. Do tree frogs shed?
He is still very active and hasnt lost his appetite. Just wondering if i should worry about this?
Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of amphibians!
It's nearly impossible to say what your frog was doing without pictures. Yes, frogs do shed their skin regulary. However, it's nothing to be worried about and it's much less stressfull and appears to be much "easier" than for a snake, for example.
Here's a high quality video of a dumpy tree frog shedding. Turn on 1080p, fullscreen and enjoy!
