I've read the excelent African Bullfrog Care Article (Frog Forum - African Bullfrog - Pyxicephalus adspersus - Care and Breeding) and also the Nutritional Value Food Chart (Caudata Culture Articles - Nutritional Values) at Caudata. Currently feeding my juvenile mostly big earthworms and crickets. My frog is a great eater, so one day tried a thawed 2 in. smelt fish (find them at Asia market for human consumption) and the frog ate it with no problem.
So been thinking if it's OK to include in African Bullfrog diets whole small fish (like smelt or lance) which are nutritious (not feeder goldfish)? How about whole or cut up prawns (with or without shell)?
I have those items at freezer to supplement my large fish diet of staple pellets, so it's very convenient if my African Bullfrog could benefit from them too. Thank you for reading and please do include your comments and ideas in regards to subject.
