DEFINITELY don't place a hot light directly on cling wrap. I've never tried that, but it doesn't sound like it would end well. Both of my frog's lights are snake-like desk lamp sort of things, so I can turn them just a little bit to get a less direct exposure, or aim them at the base of one half of the cage.

Very good point. That can be the difference between bumping up your temps/humidity and putting your frog in a microwave!
