When I left for college this year, I wasn't able to take my Trevor with me. My mother is taking care of him until the summer when I can move somewhere that I can have him with me. He still eats fairly regularly, and seems to be doing fine whenever I go home and can check on him. Funny thing is, he normally will eat 3-5 crickets a day. He's never had that crazy pacman feeding response, and he's very picky about the foods he'll take. But when I come home, it's almost like he goes on a binge, sometimes eating up to 12 crickets in a day! I've watched my mom feed him, and I know she's not doing anything differently, so I really can't figure out why he does this.
He does so many atypical things for a pacman I'm starting to think he's just strange and I should stop looking for explanations for his oddness![]()
He could be going through a growth spurt, but more than likely since they all have different personalities it sounds like somebody likes to eat for his parent. Meaning ofcourse you. They do recognize voices and faces. So your frog knows who you are and probably likes to eat more for you than your mother. Who knows he might even be excited to see you.
That's about the only thing I can think of. He mostly just looks angry at the world, but I like to think he's at least a tiny bit less angry when I'm around.
I'm actually starting to wonder if I should stop calling Trevor 'he'. He'll be a year old this April, and he's getting pretty big, also he's never called. Next time I go home I'll get some good measurements of him and see what people on here seem to think. Haha, poor thing is probably having some sort of gender-identity crisis. Well, not really, but I would like to know..
Maybe he is the strong, silent type! I'm sure on the inside he is very happy to see you... you know, in a grumpy-pacman sort of way. Lol!
It is almost impossible to tell gender until they mature. We went through the whole gender crisis with Grif. We guessed based on the info that we had at the time (which turned out to be faulty!). But since she has never called, shows no sings of nuptial pads, and is already over four inches long at eight months old: we are now almost certain it is a girl. The first week or so of getting used to saying "she" instead of "he" was awkward, but after that its fine. She is stuck with a boy's name, but she definitely likes being called pretty. Such a vain froggie! Post some pictures next time and we will all play guess the gender.
