    Default Girlfriends & Pyxie Frogs...

    Alright, I've had enough....

Am I the only one who gets made fun of on a daily basis by their g/f for visiting frog forums all the time lol? And just for the whole frog hobby in general?

idk about made fun of. My girlfriend liked forgs before me, I was more into large snakes, and "dangerous" animals.

People at work laugh at me when they see "FROG FORUM" in big lettering at the top of the page.

They have a even better reaction when I tell them about my roach colonys.

Yeah, she busts my balls all the time. She's into snakes and other reptiles, but for some reason she thinks its funny that I'm into phibs too lol.

My wife loves our bearded dragon and veiled chameleon, but she thinks the frogs are "icky." But she tolerates them.

Frogs are awesome! This is something a lot of people just don't get (note that I said people not women). There is definitely a stereotype that women don't like frogs, and while some don't, there are a lot that do. Last time I looked at the demographics survey on this forum there were more women than men. (Of course that could have changed since then, but still...) I guess I'm lucky though; my finance and I both really like frogs. It is something for us to do together. Now we have many, many conversations about fascinating things such as substrate types, cricket culturing and our frogs' bowel movements! All the interesting things that make my friends' eyes glaze over every time I mention my frogs. LOL! Apparently not every one finds talking about dirt, bugs, and frog poop intellectually stimulating. That is why I have to spend so much time on this forum!

Couldn't have put that any better Griff! I guess my girl and I enjoy the snakes together, but the frogs are just my thing. That's why I think I love this forum so much, because I have no one to really b.s with about frog stuff. This is by far my favorite forum on the internet now, and BP.net has taken a back seat...Too many personalities there anyway, and just too many know it all's. This place has been great with the help, and everyone's awesome personality makes it even more great. You all should be proud seriously.

Actually....I forgot when I had a pair of Whites Tree Frog's that she really liked them. But I had to re-home them because I wasn't living in a permanent spot, and unfortunately something came up and I had to find a new home. Maybe I should look into some of those guys again just to spark her interest again...

There's more females then males on this site. Look at the graph some where here in the form . The numbers are higher for woman into amphibians. I get made fun of all the time from the females but who cares. My family thinks is weird. But who cares what people think. They act like its taboo to have a little pacman.

I showed my girls at work pictures of my frogs and nearly all of them either think they're pretty, cute, or neat. I work with about 30 women and 3 guys just in my unit (nurses). See? Women do like frogs !

I think because their squishy, innocent, and have an appearance of 'smiling' women find them cute, neat, etc. Frogs get a bad name for living in swamps, but they're really fascinating.

I think it has something to do with the fairy tales that were told to us when we were young about the frog that was turned into a prince when it was kissed.lol

So glad I made this thread! I love knowing I'm not alone, and I'm NOT crazy. Listen fellas, Frogs are bad ** little creatures. If your significant others don't want to embrace that fact, then more hobby for us then. Hold your frogs high guys!

    Hee hee!

My husb used to be okay with my frogs until a couple weeks ago when I almost brought home a new fantasy frog. He wasn't so happy then. You'd have thought i was bringing home an elephant the way he reacted. I only have one pac now, and currently 3 retf's.
