Default Aphids as a food source?

Hi everyone, I just noticed that my young willow tree outside has lots of dark purple aphids on it. I was wondering if they would be a suitable food source for my red eyed froglets. The reason I ask is because I remember in the past I've heard of people feeding aphids found on ivy to frogs which unfortunately resulted in them dying because of the aphids sucking up poisons from the ivy. Does anyone have any information on this?

I've used aphids from milkweed as food for dart frogs with no problems. Willow bark is a natural analgesic. You might be adding something to the frogs diet that is not good for it.
