Very interesting thread.
I always used to wonder about the bombina genus, I thought the were very frog-like for a toad.
When I was younger I got a book for christmas called The Terrarium by Harald Jes.
In it there was a picture of an African Bullfrog, though the caption said it was a pyxie toad. Left me confused for quite sometime.![]()
Every time I show my male African Bullfrog to people they think he's a toad. Sad really - he's much more handsome!

When I was a kid I thought that tadpoles would be toads and pollywoggs would be frogs lol.
