Unhappy HELP! White Hair Algae everywhere.... Came from driftwood??

Well, I have gone from so excited to..... urrrrrr!!! LOL

So, I reset up my FBT tank a couple of weeks ago with some driftwood. I baked it first per the average instruction. One skinny part of a piece charred and tried to catch fire, but no problems....or so I thought.

Three days ago I noticed fuzzy white mold growing on the charred end of the driftwood. Ick! So I started pulling wood and realized that the cut end of both pieces was oozing a clear slime. Needless to say, I quickly got all the driftwood out.

Since then I have noticed a whispy, white filament stuff everywhere. Started on the back glass near the filter, I could see it waving in the current. Then yesterday I see it's moving to the rocks and decor. Today it was on the pebbles and just everywhere. Not so thick you can see it without looking up close, but still there. After researching online I find that it's white hair algae. Grew from the toad amonnia, driftwood rotting, dead crickets in the water, and direct sunlight on the tank the majority of the day.

So, what to do? Partial water changes, filter change, scrubbing everything down...got that. But anything else? They sell drops for it, but i figured what kills plant growth might harm my toads. Any experience out there with this?

I hate to say this but it is going to be less painful for you to break down and clean everything then to wait out what might never completely go away. I know that really stinks but if you get in under control, will it come out from some place hidden later to just start the whole process of removal over?
