The reason why I am asking this is because today my 2 FBTs seemed to be trying to do the nasty in the water, and one had the other under the water and holding them there. I am still trying to sex them so I am not sure if they are male/female, female/female or male/male. Everytime I go to hold one and lift him out so I can have a look the other tries to escape. They both like to swim alot so I try to see when they are in the water.
For sexing I read that the male has webbing inbetween their back toes and the female has longer toes. Is this correct, or am I mixed up?
Thanks in advance
That is very normal. The one doing the grabbing is likely a male. If the other one is chirping or squeaking at it, it is male too. If it is not making any noise it is either a female or immature male. Normal behavior though, they won't drown eachother or anything.
Today was the first time I have seen them go in the water and wrestle like that. Normally they do it on the stones that are part in the water and on land. Just didn't want to find out one day one killed the other trying to get its freak on lol. Am I right about the sexing?
