Hi guys
Been a while since posting here, but coming out of our Winter here in South Africa into one hot and dry summer I hope to be more active with some interesting finds to share.
I am about to get my first White's tree frogs and really excited. They come and go on the market over here, but I think I have found what hopes to be a healthy pair, but still waiting on feedback from the seller. I am starting to get the tank set up in the mean time and I've opted for a set-up where I will flood the bottom about 5-10cm deep and have various potted plants/creepers with logs and some handy fish to help with cleaning up the tank - which I have used with my Fire bellied before and works really well in keeping the water clean.
MY question is although it is nice and warm at the moment our winter months I always struggle with keeping temps high enough, so I am still unsure if I should be using a fish tank heater submerged in the water or an under tank heating pad. I like to use the fish tank heater as I find these easier to control humidity and temps but would also like to hear some feedback from guys who have had success with both options. I have read different threads and care sheets and most vary in opinion.
Please your feedback is much appreciated.
Many thanks!
Darryn
