I understand that at some point in adulthood and at a certain size, a pyxie frog's growth rate may decrease significantly. Is is possible for growth to slow down for smaller pyxie frogs (3-4 inches) and what might be the reasons for this?
My frog has maintained the same SVL since september when it started to get cold out. The heat in the tank was a steady 78-82 degrees at 65% humidity. The frog burrowed for about 6 weeks and formed a cocoon of skin. From what I have read, the conditions in the tank should not have caused my frog to go into aestavation (or however you spell it). Is there a reason for this as well?
It is now in an all water tank with a water heater set at 84 with air temps at 80 degrees.
