    Default Food rate

My new pixie is doing great, been growing strong. Has an insane appetite compared to my pacmans. He's about 4.5 inch right now and i'm not sure how much to feed him cause he will eat non stop. Currently I'm doing nightcrawlers during the week and then crickets on the wknd at a rate of bout 4 canadian crawlers every other day and then about 15 crickets on the wknd. Just kinda curious if thats enough? to much? ect

Earthworms are a very well balanced food and high in good nutrition. If your frog is still growing, it's virtually impossible to overfeed it on earthworms alone. I would keep doing what you're doing until growth slows down significantly.

I have a pixie about that size and 5 nightcrawlers is about what I feed him. Sounds like you are doing good.

I try to feed my frogs two days on and one off. I think it was Jeff from Jela's Phat Phibs that told me that. It has worked like a charm.

I feed my boy once every two days; he's about 4.5-5 svl. So, roughly the same size as yours. He eats 30-50 large crickets including 10-12 canadian night crawlers every 2 days for 15-20 minutes.

You're not going to overfeed him on invertebrates alone; if you were constantly feeding rodents there would be a problem. Just go by the rule feeding time every 2-3 days: 15-20 minutes. It has always worked for me and around that time he shows signs of being content.

Thanks for the info, sounds like you feed quite a bit more than I am currently. I think i'm gonna bump it up to more per sitting and see how he does. Right now he's jumping at the glass and screen begging for food when I come in the room haha but he looks nice and fat. Hard to say how old he is since he was pretty large at the petstore a month ago when I got him but I think he's grown quite a bit already. I THINK i might have heard him croak the other night too so i'm really hoping everyone on here was right when they told me it was a male

Yeah I'm always surprised how gluttonous he really is. Kind of costly too, to feed him. Anything for my little guy though, want to make sure he is fed plenty and grows to his potential.

Try it out, hope yours is a male too. I have no clue how old mine is either, I'm guessing roughly 4-5 months old. I picked him up a couple of months ago when I believe he was already 2 months old (2-2.5 svl).

Ya really really hoping its a male, gettin a lot of orange on him too. How long does it usually take with a good diet to reach adult size with these guys?
