You'll adjust the light until it maintains the correct temp that you want it. turn it up a little under half and adjust up as needed. Also when you mist for humidity the temp will drop for a bit as moist air is cooler than dry air. Unless you mist with warm water. Keep me posted. Try and keep the fake plant if you have one under the light so the beam doesn't sit directly on the substrate. Not necissary but I usually do it that way.
Currently don't have any fake plants in the terrarium and the light is directly hitting the substrate, but the temp. is staying at around 78 degrees at the moment - I have the brightness a couple notches under the max. Going to pick up a fake plant sometime this week though.
