Heating Problems!

You'll adjust the light until it maintains the correct temp that you want it. turn it up a little under half and adjust up as needed. Also when you mist for humidity the temp will drop for a bit as moist air is cooler than dry air. Unless you mist with warm water. Keep me posted. Try and keep the fake plant if you have one under the light so the beam doesn't sit directly on the substrate. Not necissary but I usually do it that way.

Currently don't have any fake plants in the terrarium and the light is directly hitting the substrate, but the temp. is staying at around 78 degrees at the moment - I have the brightness a couple notches under the max. Going to pick up a fake plant sometime this week though.

Should be fine for now. Make sure you watch the temps as it can climb rapidly with those kinds of bulbs. Also to help hold in heat and humidity you can cover 3/4 of your screen top with plastic wrap. Your light should be in the center of the lid and cover the on both sides of the lid on the cool and warm side with plastic wrap. It will hold heat and humidity better and you won't have to dial the lamp up so high. Make sure you don't put the plastic wrap under the lamp.

Thanks for the tips, advice, and suggestions! Right now the temp. is at 80 degrees and I have dialed it down as it rises. Humidity is at about 85%, so all is well. He/she is buried under the substrate, but hopefully he/she will come up for dinner now that his/her habitat is nice and warm!

You're welcome. I hope all is well and you're Pac starts eating more like Pacmans should. Also watch the moistness of your substrate because the lights will dry it out some.

He/she was munching down 5 large crickets a night until the temp. dropped here. Went into a little bit of a hibernation the past two days, but he/she ate at least one cricket those nights. I'm sure his/her appetite will rise again tonight since he/she will have a comfortable habitat to hunt in. I'll make sure to keep an eye on that, the cool side is staying nice and moist!

He/she was munching down 5 large crickets a night until the temp. dropped here. Went into a little bit of a hibernation the past two days, but he/she ate at least one cricket those nights. I'm sure his/her appetite will rise again tonight since he/she will have a comfortable habitat to hunt in. I'll make sure to keep an eye on that, the cool side is staying nice and moist!
