Cool Hi all, new to the wonderful suib world of amphibians

Hi all, although I'm new to keeping amphibians, i've kept a wide variety of reptiles over the years, and had the pleasure of getting to work in a reptile specialist pet shop. I'm hoping to aquire my first frogs shortly, and although I've read plenty of care articles on this and other sites, i'm a little unsure as to what to go for-I'm very close to deciding on American Green Tree's or Fire Belly Toads. Different but both hardy so the opinion seems.

I would love to hear any personal views, or other suggestions for a 12 gallon tank, I'd be grateful. I do have access to a 29 gallon tank to move onto, but for now I'm hoping to test the waters with the smaller tank.

**the title should have read squib ;P**

Welcome to the community. Since you haven't purchased any frogs yet, might I suggest you look for something a little less "common" ? Everybody has either one or the other of these species . Try for something a little more unusual, like an Amazon Milk Frog? 12 gallons is a little on the small side but for a single tree frog it might be passable, provided you furnish it wisely.

Many thanks I concur with your suggestion, originally I had decided that on paper Mantellas would have been ideal originally as I wished to keep a cooler climate species, however I don't feel I have enough experience yet to chance them. However I've decided to go for a Dyscophus guinetti, along with the FBT, I will be keeping them in seperate tanks, despite the assurances from some that they will be fine together. I purchased a single Dyscophus guinetti and 2 FBT's, though I have the view of getting a 3rd.
I'm hoping to explore breeding first with the FBT's and personal interests with the False Tomato

I'm going to post some pics of my vivarium build, and once completed with the frogs in Thank you for the opinions and warm welcome, I hope to be able to contribute some thoughtful posts.
