Junk seems to get a lighter green over all, and more white bits all over her body more and more every day! she is also developing a lot of yellow around her front arms..... pictures from outside make "her" look more like a male to me though. what do you guys think?
ENJOY!
(FYI, she was NOT happy to be carried outside, so she is full of air for these shots.)
Thanks for lookin! I will keep track of her colors, and take more pictures as they get better
Rob
She looks awesome!! Thanks for sharing! I love the spots on her chin!
Nice lookin' girl Rob. She's already developing nice colors, the outdoor shots really bring it out. Can't wait to see what she looks like in a couple more months to come.
nice obese female.
Very nice pyxie and photos of it. How old and big is she?
She is a great looking female.
Awww! I want to snuggle her!
haha thanks.
Lately she has been acting as if she is going into estivation. She has lost her appetite, and is very aggressive toward me lately. I have always had to dig her up to feed her, because she loves to burrow, and its not normally an issue, but lately she gets real mad, then only eats 2-3 roaches.
I have pumped up the heat on my roaches, so maybe the higher heat for her is making her want to go into estivation? idk. I'm going to try and keep her from the heat a bit, and see if she perks up.
Is your substrate dried out? If it appears dry, then keep it moist a long with humidity. Since you pumped up the heat in your bathroom, the moisture is escaping faster in Junk's tank. She might be trying to stay cool in the dirt away from the heat or just burrowing to rest. If the substrate stays dry for long periods of time they will lose their appetite and go into aestivation though.
If she has some hides for cover, good size water bowl, temps 80-85F in the day, and moist soil with high humidity... Then you're good and that should bring her appetite back up. Usually if you spray down the soil with plenty of water they'll emerge on their own to eat. She may be stressed a little bit from unburying a lot; do you typically feed her in the daytime or at night? During day they like to rest under some cover and bury, nighttime they'll emerge and go into their water dish or become active. Mine is always in his water bowl 24/7 though - I have to pick him up to get him out to clean it haha.
I wouldn't stress out too much if she lost her appetite for a few days, just let her chill on her own and get her to eat in the next couple of days.
well she is probably around 90 at most. Haven't done a temp reading lately to be honest. I've been feeding her toward the night, top soil CAN get dry, but mostly doesn't, humidity gauge is at 80% most the time.
not to worried about it, just been the last few days she's been doing it. Going to feed her tonight since it's been two days, and see how she acts.
Oh alright, sounds good.
Thats why I jumped on it! lol.
guy is trying to downsize his colony of 10,000. Has sold 4,500 in the last week he said. basically selling off all the adults/breeders.
I figure atleast 200 females or so, even at 20 babies in the first month, thats 4,000 babie nymphs.
Cheapest nymph's on ebay are 1000 for $60 with shipping.......... I would say i got one hell of a deal![]()
Damn, that guy has a colony of 10,000... Yeah he's just cleaning out; I paid $60 for 200 adults. So, I got an ok deal huh? Haha.
