    Default Madagascar reed frog

anyone with experience with reed frogs from Madagascar?

Thinking about trying to get some as a pet, I assume I could house them in a similar way to dart frogs?

Madagascar reed frogs (genus: Heterixalus) are very easy to care for and can live and breed in the most simple of terrariums. Their care is similar to the African continental reed frogs (genera: Hyperolius and Afrixalus). I recommend H. alboguttatus or H. madagascariensis for starters. If you can find them, H. punctatus is awesome with it's "baby blue" color on its back.

I see you are from Omaha, I currently live in Bellevue. A couple of summers ago, I worked in the amphibian conservation area at Omaha Zoo. I really enjoyed working with the reed frogs and Mantellas among other species.

Another note to this thread is that reed frogs require a lot more ventilation then a dart frog would and they also like it warmer. They bask quite often. Similar to general tree frog care.
