Nightcrawlers? Mollies maybe? I'm no expert by any means but I've read those that are given mice should only be given mice 1 maybe 2 times a month as a treat. I would think though... hungry enough, he will eat what is provided.

That is certainly a problem. How long did you try starving her? With so many mice, her health is deteriorating. Too much fats and proteins over too short a period can cause tramatic effects such as obesity, irreversable blindness, and unfortunately even death. You may need to show her some tough love and try fasting again. I'm afraid feeding her more mice routinely would just make it less likely for her to try something else.

Keep us updated of any progress.

While that may seem like a while for us, a week is really nothing for an ectotherm, especially one with good fat stores. Give her a month and see what happens.

I would and have had success with similiar issues give the frog 2-3 weeks of no food then try her.
If not after this period force feed her she will soon get back in the swing of things.

    thanks

Post a pic before you decide to fast the frog for a month. Also you should try Hornworms most Pacmans love them.I would think a 3 week fast would be suficient possibly 2. Just don't give anymore mice for quite a while after you get the frog to eat other varieties of foods if at all.

A good way to tell if the frog is obese is if you can see the front legs still while the frog is sitting. If you can see the frogs front legs it is not too obese. Maybe try a little over a week and offer some night crawlers or Hornworms. If the frog doesn't take them then go for the second week then try again. Your frog should be pretty hungry after the second week. You can force feed the frog by opening the frogs mouth wit a credidt card/shopper card/or plastic spoon and place the food item in. Watch you fingers your frog looks like it may have a good bite.

Then you know what to expect. I don't like to force feed either especially now. I had to force feed my female Cranwelli Grif for 2 months straight every day because she became ill for reasons I can't explain and stopped eating. Began to lose weight very rapidly. Pulled her through though and now she's fine and eats with fiercness. About the enclosure, I would lose the moss. To much risk of impaction if your frog eats any by accident. Unless you feed her in a seperate feeding tank. Do you use Eco Earth coco fiber?

If you soak her in luke warm de-chlorinated water it will help her poop. Mamalian tissue is difficult for them to digest and takes longer than insects and worms plus they have bones and hair which doesn't digest well in just about any animal. So depending on how long its been since the last time she pooped will determin the next. Usually takes a week or so between bowel movements.

If your frog is used to you enough to where you can gently massage her belly while she's soaking in the warm water it also helps them poop if they have trouble. I do it occsionaly to Grif. You can take her out to soak her in a big bowl or something similar as well. I can tell that you do as you're supposed to and don't handle your frogs much to nil. So you must take good care of them. you say you have them estivating? So you are putting them through hibernation? Or do you mean the normal day time estivating?

I've read up on the process. I'm not going to put mine through estvation until they're a year old or so. I'll have to prepare a controled environment. I've heard that its dangerous for young frogs. Have you done this before?
