Need some advice new to tree frogs

I was given a viv by my friend who couldn't keep her pets in her new apartment. The frogs look good but my main concern is shes keeping a red eye and a green tree frog together. Is this okay or will I have to buy another viv? She told me they have done fine its just some people tell me its okay and some tell me its not. I joined so I could learn the answer from educated frog people not the pet store dude who I called and told me he didn't know. Yall's help is greatly appreciated.

Basically you have to different species from two different parts of the work. All frogs have toxins at the skin level that is left behind as trace where ever they travel and in the water they soak in.
Frogs absorb water through their skin in place of drinking water with their mouth, so the toxins from one animal are slowly being absorbed by the other. This will slowly cause health issues over time, and probable death to the tankmates over long term.

I would separate as so as possible.
