It says they dont know what will be what since the tadpoles look the same, i am guessing they go out when it rains and just get a bunch of tadpoles from puddles maybe?

They may encourage the frogs to spawn in outdoor ponds and use tadpoles & froglets as feeders for frog eating reptiles & amphibians. We have a few small ponds that are swarmed by Gulf Coast Toads during the rains and we do use them as feeders at times (they are treated for chytrid fungus as a precaution!). Or it could be simply a matter of them taking advantage of the fact that their ponds are overwhelmed by these particular species.
