I'm in need of a 36 x 18 hinged screen cover for a 40 gal breeder tank. I found one at Bigappleherb.com but really don't want to pay $68 (ship includ) for one. So any ideas or instructions on building one?
I've been attempting to make them out of window screen supplies and so far so good. The screen rolls are usually btwn 30 and 48" wide and 84" long. For one that big I would prolly actually use screen frame or pvc or something sturdy around the edges and a couple strpis thru the middle. If you do make it yourself, you can make it hinged or even in 2 pcs or however you want.....hope this helps give you ideas![]()
egg crate+window screen. you would prob have some of both left from building the tank. cut the size you want and tie it together with cable tie or something. should be stable if you put the screen side down.
I really need some ideas that involve wood and metal mesh since I have 3 cats in the house and one like to sit on top of the tank and watch. The toads just sit there and watch the cat, they are not stressed out at all. When I let the toads hop around the living room they pay no mind to the cats, show no fear towards them even when the cat approache them. I love toad attitude! I've one idea, just gotta see if it'll work, but thanks for the help.
