Default Glass frogs of La Gamba, Costa Rica

Had 6 nights to search and survey a few small streams in western Costa Rica where I found three species of glass frogs, including C. prosoblepon (black spotting with humeral spine), H. pulveratum (white spotting) and H. valerioi. Enjoy!

All i can say this is the trip of a life time. Good for you Pal. Its very nice to see the reel deal. These frogs are very curious. They see the camera like a alienated object. Its feels like you have been in a different planet discovering new life form. Thats how the frogs face expression makes me feel. They are not camera shy cause they never saw it before. You can see how the frogs live from the pics. Notice how dark, humid, and quiet it is. Thats how it is with these type of frogs. With the whites maybe its a little different .They are not as down low as this They will go in your toilet. on your house. But then again man took over their forest. These frogs are still safe for now.

+1.....I used to live in Western Panama and took a few excursions to find these guys, to no avail. Ultra-jealous, perhaps even a little angry

Looks like you had fun while there. When did you visit?
Where'd you turn up the H. valerioi, Riverbed Trail?

Just got back. H. valerioi was on the bird trail right, near the end, off the road outside the La Gamba field station. The other two species were actually right around Esquinas.
