Welcome to the forum Christine! It's nice to see someone who's interested in more than just dart frogs. How are your Southern Variabilis doing? I think I've got 4 females and no male
.
I am so excited to have found this forum! I have always loved frogs and tadpoles. I have the following:
2 Azureus Dart Frogs - a very prolific pair
2 Southern Variabillis
2 Yellow Spotted Walking Toads
5 Red-Eyed Tree Frogs
9 Firebelly Toads - ever producing
4 African Dwarf Frogs
1 Barking Tree Frog (found in a plant from Home Depot - LOL)
I have other animals as well, but these are my frogs.
This is a wonderful site!

Welcome aboard. By yellow-spotted walking toad, are we talking Pedostibes hosii or Melanophryniscus stelzneri?
They are Melanophryniscus Stelzneri - John has an article on them. (black with yellow markings)
That is cool you found the frog in a plant at home depot, wish I would get that lucky-haha.
Once found a brown tree frog at a green house. Frogs always amazed me,and now after all these years I'm living my dream. I don't care what the outsiders say!!!
Welcome the forum, so glad to see you've joined us. That is quite the list you have there, let's get rolling on the photo gallery!![]()

Hey John,
I have read your article on fire bellied toads. I have tons of fire belly toadlets that are starting to get brighter bellies! They are all brown on top - do they develop a green color later on?
Christine
Did you breed them and ,can we see some pics, that will be cool.
I did breed them - or let's say they breed themselves! Wow - I have sold over a hundred tadpoles and fire bellied toadlets and have about that much left! I have about 4 females and 4 males - the toadlets are awesome! Will try to post some pictures soon.
Found them in a plant!? I'd like to hear that story
Would you be able to send me some tads. I live in NYC. How much is shipping that would be cool.
I found the barking tree frog in the plant, not the firebellies! It was hilarious - there it was in the palm I was buying @ Home Depot. I showed a worker and asked if I could keep it! LOL
